Celebrations in Norfolk

Our second family holiday of the year was a top notch trip to Norfolk to celebrate Lola's Nana Carolyn's 60th birthday. Even the (very) wet weather couldn't put a dampner on the occasion - although I soon realised that we deserately need some kind of zip up waterproof outfit for the little one.

We had a brilliant time - and Paul and I got some well deserved rest, all thanks to those keen Grandparents again. Highlights included a legendary Singstar session the night before Carolyn's birthday where we did a group rendition of Queen's Don't Stop Me Now at midnight

Other highlights included Paul and Nice Al's version of Run DMC's Tricky, Nice Al and Liz doing Paul Abdul's Opposites Attract and Carolyn's pitch perfect rap performance during Junior Senior's Everybody. Who'd have thought it?

Even the rain paused to allow us a faboulous day on a hired boat on the Broads for Carolyn's actual birthday.

Lola unfortunately had an off day due to an upset tummy. I convinced myself I'd passed on a hangover, but have since decided it was probably caused by teething (which she's in the throes of by the way).

Here she is taking in the view with her Nana

Pulling off the moody look with her Uncle Ian

And still managing to have a cheerful moment even though she feels like crap. That's my girl.

Congratulations Carolyn on your retirement, turning 60 and being such a glamorous Grandmother. Here's to this very exciting chapter in your life.
